Signs of Trouble: Red Flags To Look For When Selecting and Auditing Non-Profits

Non-profit audits often occur in a politically charged environment. To successfully conduct these audits, auditors need to look for certain red flags that could indicate serious problems in the organization. Some of these signs of trouble include lack of government oversight, Executive Director/Dictator, ineffective Board of Directors, and improper financial dealings. This session will provide auditors with criteria for identifying non-profits with financial and/or governance problems and information on how to successfully plan and conduct non-profits audits.
